  • Power BI Analytics at Scale with Microsoft Fabric

In today's world getting true data driven insights can take a lot of time and energy. Data is spread across a wide variety of storage systems, all of which can have different operating models, security models and integration requirements. The next generation of Microsoft's data platform, which includes Power BI aims to solve this problem.

Come to this session to explore Microsoft Fabric, understand exactly what it is, and how it can help position your organization for the new age of AI. Microsoft Fabric has changed the way we all think about and utilize data. Taking lessons from Power BI Premium capacities Fabric allows us to get past many limitations of the shared Power BI service & the PAAS\IAAS world of Azure Synapse. However, with great power comes great responsibility.

This session will outline exactly what Microsoft Fabric is, what features it unlocks and what limitations it changes. We will also call out situations where Fabric may not be appropriate, and the steps that you need to take to ensure that you get the maximum value from it. If you’re considering a move to Microsoft Fabric, you’ll want to attend this session.

  • Managing Multiple tenants in Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 uses the concept of a "tenant" to securely isolate each customer's data, users, and permissions, even as they are running on shared infrastructure. Most applications run within a single tenant, and would require a separate copy of the app for each tenant.

In this session, you'll gain a deep understanding of tenants and the new Multi-Tenant Organizations (MTO) feature. We’ll demystify the various types of users – internal, external, members, and guests – and show how they work for users and Entra ID administrators. Then you'll learn how enterprise and 3rd party applications work within this environment, how to write multi-tenant apps, and how to manage access as a tenant admin.

This is not only important to software vendors who sell SaaS solutions to many customers, it’s also relevant to customers who find themselves with multiple tenants due to mergers and acquisitions and other partnerships. Please attend to fully understand how multitenancy works in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph, and the apps you write and use every day!

  • To Build or Buy: Case Management in Dynamics 365 or Power Apps

It's an age-old question: should I buy the solution "off the shelf" or build it myself? In the past, the high cost of custom development meant most people bought their software and did their best to "make it work."

But with the advent of low code, more and more organizations are not having to make that choice, but inside discovering it's really a spectrum.

This session will look the specific need many of my customers have: case management. In the past and sadly in the present, many of my customers rely on Excel to manage cases (or incidents or whatever terminology they use). Thanks to Power Apps, these customers have a better way.

But what about Dynamics 365? When should they consider it versus a "home grown" solution. I'll look at the pros and cons of both approaches and perhaps help you find the "sweet spot."
