Paul Papanek Stork

Paul Papanek Stork

Don't Pa..Panic Consulting, Owner

Microsoft is adding AI support to the Power Platform low code development platforms called Copilot. You can use Copilot to help build your next App, Flow, or Bot. Copilot can enhance your development experience in multiple ways.

  1. You can use natural language to describe what you are trying to build. Copilot will return a suggested design for the app, flow, or Dataverse tables which you can then use.
  2. Copilot will also help you along the way by suggesting modifications to improve your PowerFX formulas.
  3. Copilot controls can also be used in Apps to submit natural language queries about your data
  4. You can also embed a Custom Copilot developed in Copilot Studio into your App.

Copilot won't replace you as a Citizen Developer, but it will help you produce amazing apps and powerful flows in a fraction of the time.

Power Automate Desktop: How to Automate Almost Anything

Paul Papanek Stork

Paul Papanek Stork

Don't Pa..Panic Consulting, Owner

Power Automate flows can do a lot to automate repetitive tasks. But up until now they only worked if there was a pre-built connector with actions that can accomplish the task or at least an existing Application Programming Interface API that you could use to build a custom connector.

In this talk we'll look at Power Automate's entry into the world of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) called Power Automate Desktop. Using Power Automate Desktop you can automate repetitive tasks on your desktop in Windows or a Web application. Desktop flows record and play back user interface actions, like keyboard entries, mouse clicks, etc.

Desktop flows open up possibilities to automate applications that don't have a pre-built connector or an API.

Power BI has always provided a rich set of tools for analyzing data at rest. For data in motion, there are approaches to help reduce or eliminate data latency, but many of them require tradeoffs. The Real Time Intelligence (RTI) workload within Microsoft is designed to meet this challenge. RTI is focused on monitoring with near zero data latency to address the needs of data in Motion.

In this session we will demonstrate a real world scenario which will relate to everyone - pulling data from home automation systems including security, thermostats, entertainment, lighting and weather. We will stream all of thise signals into an eventhouse using event streams, and monitor this data with real time dashboards.

Real Time Intelligence is a new paradigm, and does for data in motion what Power BI does for data at rest. If you have data monitoring needs, this session is for you.

Learn when, why, and how to create Custom Engine Agents for M365 Copilot

Andrew Connell

Andrew Connell

Become an expert developer in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem!

Developers can create agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot to implement specific scenarios for your users. One option, declarative agents (DA), enable you to define knowledge sources for grounding & teach it new skills, but your users still need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license or configure the consumption pricing. But did you know, a custom engine agent (CEA) might be a better choice not just for costs, but for additional control!

In this developer-focused session, learn what doors CEA unlock giving you more options and power than DAs or agents built with Copilot Studio, all with zero licensing requirements (you pay for the resources that implement it). In many cases, this could limit your costs, give you more control! Learn how why CEA’s could be an option for your organization, when they make the most sense, and how to create them!

Teams and Microsoft 365 Sharing - Unstructured and Structured

Peter Carson

Peter Carson

President

Teams and Microsoft 365 external sharing is all about publishing or collaborating with people outside your organization. Users will find ways to do it with or without IT support (typically through email or shadow IT), so it's important for IT to provide an easy way for them to do it effectively and securely.

Sharing can be done in a number of different ways. Unstructured sharing to a small set of external users works well with the OOTB SharePoint and OneDrive features. External users can also be invited in as full Microsoft Teams guests for collaboration. Teams Shared Channels can be used to improve the user experience for external users, eliminating the need for tenant switching in Teams.

As the scale increases, structured sharing with many external users needs alternatives such as Azure AD B2B, custom code or third party solutions. We'll discuss options available and what makes sense where using real world examples.

In this session we will cover both configuring sharing appropriately, and the user experience for both content sharers and recipients. We'll go through a number of different scenarios.

External sharing in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint Online Azure AD B2B (Business to Business) Teams Shared Channels and Azure AD Direct Connect Microsoft's Entitlement Management portal's Access Packages for external users Custom and third party options leveraging the Graph API We'll also touch on how to leverage Microsoft's security stack to improve the security of your Microsoft 365 Extranet.

Data recovery options for SharePoint/OneDrive

Brian Alderman

Brian Alderman

Six-year MVP Alumni, 28-year MCT, Author, Speaker, Consultant

SharePoint and OneDrive include several content recovery options for SharePoint and OneDrive for Business administrators, site collection administrators, and end users. Educating your end users on SharePoint recovery options like the site recycle bin, versioning, and site collection recycle bin can lighten the burden on your admins.

Using either a GUI or PowerShell you can backup and restore your entire SharePoint Server farm or components of it. In SharePoint Server you can also perform more granular content backups by exporting site collections, site, libraries, and lists, and there are options for recovering these site collections, sites, lists and libraries from content databases that are no longer part of your SharePoint Server farm.

With a vast majority of your SharePoint Server content stored in SQL Server it is imperative that you have an efficient way to recover items or entire databases as quickly as possible.

This discussion will introduce the Best Practices framework that will allow your SharePoint Server administrators to configure SharePoint as well as SQL Server for quick content recovery, minimizing the downtime and providing shorter and achievable Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
